That is startlingly brutal, but being very familiar with the original stories the Brothers Grimm wrote, I'm not surprised that a lot of the more well-known nursery rhymes have an underlying sinister element to them.

Indeed! As a kid we had this original story of sleeping beauty in our bookcase. Morbid. Absolutely morbid.
