New character, originally by Vanyeeah

Zaezar

So I just bought a character for the first time. Vanyeeah was selling her old 'sona, and I just couldn't stay away. I only had to change her name. I think I will be calling her "Wynn."
I have spent the last couple of days just getting used to her in my style. Its been a fairly easy transition all things considered. But I had to buy a few new copics in hopes of matching the light yellowgreen in the furpattern. So only digital art of her for now (save for the one headshot where I tried to match the color)

The character also came with a bunch of art. So I will be spamposting them right now!

Do you use Copics or Prismacolors more?

I think for Copics if you layer a Cool Grey no.2 (Warm Grey may work, too) with Mignonette you can get this shade. With Prismacolors you might be able to get this shade with Chartreuse or Limepeel. :)

I use Copics. I also don't use the names at all, but stick with their coding system. So everything you just said went right over my head XD
The issue I have with mixing is that they will have a higher tendency to bleed when I start layering colors =/. So I ordered a few markers that are likely to match really well. Plus, its right on that border of "is it green? Or yellow?" And its oh so fun to manage that -.-

For future reference that would be "C2" for the Cool Grey and "YG11" for the Mignonette. It's definitely a yellow-green in this picture, but it has a greyed look to it. That's why I suggested the layering. :)

I think the Prismacolor Chartreuse would probably be perfect. Limepeel is just a little lighter. There's probably equivalent Copic colors...I usually use vibrant greens though, so I don't have the odder shades. chuckle

Oh! I own both those colors in copic already! Sadly, neither work for the yellow-green shade =(
I believe I used YG11 on the traditional head shot I made. Its just too green and too pale. And I want to avoid layering colors if at all possible due to the bleed effect I mentioned earlier. If I have to, I will, but I want to see how these ones I ordered go first.

And I also want to avoid Prismacolor markers for the time being as well. They don't blend as easily as I like or in the way I like. But that is just me being picky. I will come around to them when I have more experience with markers in general X3

Nowadays I use my Prismas for large spaces (like background) and keep my Copics for the characters in my drawings. chuckle

When our Blick store closed, I bought the 200-marker Prisma set for like $70...so that's how I started out with the art markers. Until then I used Crayola marker and pencil products. :)
