A discussion about moths led me to doodle a moth character. Then I inked it because I wasn't keeping my hands busy. The next stream I had, I was getting kinda annoyed at a drawing. One of the rare times this happens. In my kinda-rage I took a photo of the inked moth drawing and colored it in digital watercolor. Here is the result of that.

My headcanon for this character is that they are born as a larva stage and live a good chunk of their life as that. Once they hatch from their cocoons into adulthood they have only about two weeks. They cannot eat and will eventually starve. But they are born with one purpose based on their breed. If they accomplish it, then they die instantly and will be reborn as a "larva". If they cannot manage it in their short adult life, then they will die from hunger. This is based (loosely) on a Deaths Head Hawkmoth. Their goal is to kill something (hence the scythe).

I like the idea of death being the ultimate motivator for a species. I hope to make more of these in the future, eventually. Anyone know any interesting moth species? I already have some plans for a Luna Moth.
I also need to add another set of limbs on them. It feels like a missed opportunity.
