Bell and Gnaw by Zaezar

Bell and Gnaw

Zaezar

The first image I made in my livestream Yesterday. As it turns out, I have completely changed all my characters' trainer outfits, companion pokemon, and/or designs! So now I have to go through and re-draw them all. I might as well do it better than before.

Here is Bell with his male Trapinch "Gnaw"
Nature: Hardy
Ability: Arena Trap

Moveset:

  • Rock Slide
  • Crunch
  • Mud Slap
  • Sandstorm

Held Item: Soothe Bell
Gnaw is a very simple mind. He likes to eat, and sleep, and cares for the others around him. Gnaw has a fear of Evolving. Its assumed that he likes his higher power and the ability to crunch his opponents. Both of which he will lose if he turns into a Vibrava. So Bell keeps him as a Trapinch. He is fine with it though, as Gnaw is a very competent fighter in battle.

I think having Arena Trap is a fantastic ability--until a Wild Pokemon uses it on you and you're just trying to get from A to B on the field. XD I actually just started using Electric Terrain against trainers (in ORAS), realizing how many have Pokemon that know Rest nowadays, no sleepytimes for you! ;)

    Looks very cool! :D

There are so many things in the newer games that I just have no clue about haha

I'm not sure why they started doing the "terrain" Moves...but I feel that it was definitely TCG influenced, they've had Terrains in the Pokemon TCG for ages now. I think Electric Terrain is the most useful, as it prevents all Pokemon from falling asleep...definitely of use against Trainers who allow their Pokemon to use Rest and have them equipped with a Lum Berry. XD I've never found a use for the other Terrain Moves yet...Misty Terrain just "looks pretty" to me (I still don't know what its effect is.............!). Basically you're changing the environment around the field to provide a benefit to one Pokemon or another...kind of like the Weather-based moves (Rain Dance, Sunny Day, etc.).
