Priestess Illam by XennyDiemes

Priestess Illam

XennyDiemes

Her full title goes as:

The High Priestess of the Temple of the Titan Goddess Lillaci, Mother of the Second Church of Amerista and Governor of the City-State of Aa'xetria City

Try putting all that on a business card. Like most places, Amerista has a religion, one that revolves around the worship of six buffed titans that according to their accounts are responsible for blessing of all the beings of the world with huge muscles (except King Lathan). But with those muscles, those titans also gave them the six great traits which also became the pieces that establish the six temples and three churches. They are:

Hope & Wisdom - First Church
Peace & Perseverance - Second Church
Courage & Love - Third Church

Also because of those temples and churches, they get a special administrative status as city-states that are interdependent to the rest of the nation but the bare the power of ascending the new monarch. In fact, it was Illam who was chosen to place the crown of Amerista upon Lathan though it was very awkward since she could not see him until he was right underneath her massive breasts. She has also been a controversial figure for a number of years when she was appointed as the 18th Mother of the Second Church and Governor by her predecessor, an eagle named Father Mayne.

So, what's the controversy? It's the matter of her past when she used to be a powerful warrior known as the "Red Queen". Why is she called that? Because being a polar bear, never a day goes by she comes back with her fur soaked from head to toe in the blood of her enemies. She was a very well-known and highly feared beast back in time time of the great Amerista-Dragon War, tireless and merciless, her strength went all out in brutal campaigns that even her generals considered too extreme. But then there was a moment of her life that changed her forever. See her method is that she only fights and kills those who attack her first. But one day, while carrying important cargo across the mountains to a camp, she was ambushed by several dragons who fight on. But one of the dragons was running away carrying what she thought were two bits of the precious cargo and chases after him.

Meeting at the edge of a deep ravine, both Illam and the dragon fight to the death and as Illam reaches for the two bits, the dragon charges after her from behind, she turns and gets slashed across the face losing her eye. Flown into a muscle-bulking rage, she beats and mutilates the dragon with her bare hands and as she lifts the giant dragon over her head and to the ravine, the dragon spoke and screams "I'm sorry" as he falls thousands of feet to his death. Illam thought he was delusional and was making his last rites before his death. But then, she heard the faint cries coming from those "bits" to her horror, she learns that they were actually babies, and coming to realize that she just killed a father who was just trying to protect his kids.

Many years later, after the war has ended, Illam never fought another conflict and even defied the orders of her superiors to protect the kingdom even though that was punishable by death, who wants to threaten the woman who eats death for breakfast. Looking to find herself she does, when a passerby, a goer of the second church sees her and they talked over what has ben troubling her. She would have been horrified at her back story but instead took it as a sign that her past is a call for her to change. To lay the sword and take on a new path in her life. Illam agrees and eventually practices their teachings. It was hard for a war-scarred soldier to find the path to peace but she stood strong and never strayed from the path.

All the barfights, small conflicts and even her challengers could not make her move and she persevered, only using her might to defend the weak or to find a diferent way to diffuse a situation. More years pass and eventually she rose to the rank of the council of Aa'xeteria City led by Father Mayne. as "Sister". Then came the day she was chosen by her peers to become the Mother of the Church and Governor (since those roles are together) of the city-state. She did her duties and one day was called upon the High Priestess of the Temple of Lillaci, the goddess of Peace.

Even for such a mighty brute, she trembled in fear of the thought of why the High Priestess would call her, but it was of no matter when she approached the great hall and there, standing before her is a great dragon, far bigger, bustier and beefy than her and Illam kneeled before her presence. The High Priestess commands her to rise and approaches her and tell her of what she needs to tell her: She needs to seek out for her brother for she fears he has fallen to dark forces that would one day threaten the sanctity of not just Amerista but the world. For many years, she has been watching Illam grow from her brutal warrior side to find the path of righteousness and came to find peace with herself now when she showed that many, many years go. Illam doesn't understand at first of what she as referring to and she reveals that she is one of the two babies she has spared at the ravine.

Illam is right to be terrified and nearly falls into tears buy the High Priestess tells her not to cry because she wanted to face the woman who spared her and tells that she has forgiven her. And because of her situation, the High Priestess wants to ascend her to the title. Illam feels herself definitely unworthy because of her past and to even think of asking her murderer is... unthinkable! She turns and asks the bear if she still thinks of herself as a murderer, why did she even accept to be a member of the church if seeking personal peach and forgiveness isn't her ultimate goal. She has and did and now calls on her to take her place. It was too much for Illam to take in all at once and then the High Priestess spoke more about how she endured and not once let the old, blood-stained self come out again only using it to defend the weak and showed mercy to the vanquished. A concept never heard of if she continued her old ways. She believes in the bear and trusts her to take the position and finally seek the peace she so longed for. "I Accept!" became those words.

Today at the ripe ol' age of 91, Illam the Red Queen is no more. Now, she is High Priestess of the Goddess of Peace. With the charge of spreading the message of the "strength of peace" and at the time charged with ascending Lathan to the throne, leading to that award underboob moment.
