Saberhagen: Well in terms of my magical powers, I can teleport myself anywhere in the world if I wish. Sometimes pictures help make the travel easier. Levitate objects without much effort, change objects, zap things, perform complex spells. You know, sorceress stuff like in the movies.

Hue: So what you’re telling me...you’re a demi-god. If anything, a freaking god. Here you are, in my office. Face to Face. I knew you were powerful, but never at scale like this. Even if these powers don’t involve creating a living creature from your boogers, still to change inanimate objects to another form of matter, to teleport… you could bring the world to it’s knees…

SFX: Growling from the safe

Hue: Ignore that. My question is this: What’s stopping from doing so?
Saberhagen: For starters, what you suggest is gross! Second, for all my powers, I just don’t want to. I don’t really think of myself as a god or demigod. Sure, I can change the world, or bring it to its knees, but what then? In the end, I would feel… alone. I use my powers for survival in what this world has thrown at me, from great ages to incredible horrors. Oh yes, there were times I craved for the extinction of the human race for its greed and evil and all the unspeakable things that they do to their own kind. However, (breathes a bit) I look at people like Phil and the scant others who take care of me even though they don’t have to. It makes me feel… sorry for them. If I actually went through it all. It would sully everything my previous caretakers have done for me and the question of “was it worth it” would haunt me for the rest of my life. I rather be a pet than a monster.
