Done Got Lost

Woofle

Trying to get all of the music for Episode 1 uploaded before I upload it next week. This is one of the first songs heard in Episode 1 of season 1!

I meant to have this one ready to upload along with the main theme, but it ended up taking extra time!
Oh well, anyway, this theme (also from my personal project) is a theme that plays in a couple of areas. One is a dark forest in Lurafelle recovering from a fire that nearly eradicated it. Hundreds who were hiding in the woods were killed in the blaze, and a village burned to the ground. Fifteen years later, and little hints of what happened here remain.
The other is a small city in Bajandrus that was destroyed some years ago (anywhere from fifty to twenty five, depending on who you ask)by giant plants, which ripped through a majority of the buildings, and killed almost everyone before turning to stone. Beyond these details (which one can see by visiting the place) everything else is murky at best. There are a hundred different stories as to what happened and why, although only one of them is (mostly) true.

Both places are important to the story in their own way, and one of them is visited multiple times.

When I finally decided to go through with the soundtrack and story start to finish (so 2009, before that, it had just been little chunks, and a random song here or there) this was the first song I composed for it, and is very dear to me.

Anyway, enjoy! :D

It's really good, if at first really calm. It's still one of my favorite ones I've heard.

Thank you so much!! :D It's definitely a 'slow burn' song, for sure. XD

    Those low piano octaves :D!!!
    So good.

I was surprised just how hard they hit on this VST. xD It's like thunder!

I love the ephemeral quality given to the slow burn introduction by your use of the upper tone sequences, and the occasional very low moan from the piano gives the whole piece a manner of a brooding quality. Once the song does get started around 1:30, the greater energy and activity doesn't at all pull away from the phantom quality of the opening. Between the overall phantom feel of a lot of the music and the occasional low moans from the piano, the piece as a whole has a tense, worried feel to it which, I think, is precisely what you were going for.

      ♥!!
I had always worried that the latter section was incongruous with the sort of moody intro, so it's a relief to know that it actually isn't. That is indeed what I was wanting to go for. Sort of a feeling of unease, or that something isn't quite right...

I can definitely tell why this is dear to you. Absolutely beautiful work <3 I was able to envision both of those locations vividly while listening

I'm really really pleased to hear it fits both locales! I had always worried it tended more towards one or the other, although, back when I first wrote it, that wasn't much of a problem, I guess. XD Either way... this song started something that's made many memories for me, and I'm glad to finally share with the world. I can't help but be fond of it. I'm really glad you like it!!
