Burning Sun Stronghold by Woofle

Burning Sun Stronghold

Woofle

I've gotten a little further on in writing the story -- far enough that I'm to the spot where this would play, deep inside [ the Temple of the Burning Sun [link] ](http://www.weasyl.com/submission/87010)

The upper levels of this ancient temple have been turned into a stronghold for the mortal army which works under the titular Order of New Gods, meaning its filled with enemy soldiers. Seeing as the player characters are now on the continent of Follin, where the Order is based, too, the temple also has a fully reverse-engineered security system built out of technology fallen from the stars. This includes fully mobile robots that can sense in the dark just as well as the light. Stealth will probably be important here.

Last little note; all the songs in the Tsai region ('cept for the theme of Tsai itself (link) contain hints of each other. There is one more song that plays in the Tsai region, which I will have finished soon. :3 This song was first composed in 2002.

What is the name of that metallic instrument ? I really like the sound of it.
The tune itself is totally awesome too. And the percussion rules. like it busy and using lot of sounds all at once !

Which timestamp(s) does it play at? I can tell you! I'm guessin' you mean the Sitar, but don't know for sure...

Yush, the sitar ! And now I remember making a kickass FM instrument that sounds more or less like the real deal ^^

Ooohhh! That's awesome! :D I bet it sounds really nifty!

The sound is certainly good, the notes that play aren't (what were I thinking !?) : http://www.tmeeco.eu/BitShit/Sitars.mp3 (2010, march)

Oh wow, it is a neat sound! I really dig the bass, too!! :D As far as the notes go, you were learning, you know? I don't really think they're that bad, or bad at all, really, though.

The bass instrument is called "strong synthbass primavera". It is one of my staples along with "smooth synthbass maximo" haha.
Some of the notes are most definitely not right to my ears. Maybe one day I'll fix it all up. The rest is very workable. By 2010 I had quite a few much nicer tunes... and now comes the being hard on myself part hahaha.

Nothin' like findin' an awesome bass patch, you know?? Are they from a VST? Didja make them yourself? :o

They are all full MD sound, and homemade to say so. Closest you can get is probably the Aly James' VST called FMdrive. It allows you to create instruments that sound like MD as it emulates the MD FM chip :P
I have totally dedicated tools for making music that I have created myself. All you have heard from me has been from my own tools. And all my instruments are created by myself too. I have toyed around with FM for years.

That is an amazing talent you have, creating your own tools!! That's really bad-ass that you not only compose, but literally -make- your own music from the ground up!

All stuff I have done is fueled by desire to make games hehe. It is my way or no way haahaha. It has taken quite a few years to get this far though. I got my computer in 2005 and it has gone up from that time. There are no "presets" in the FM chips, so I kinda have to make my own (or steal some one else's), but when it comes to my YMF719, DB60XG and SW1000XG then presets are all there are. All my drums are from those Yamaha devices, maybe one day I'll have my own drumkit :P

Y'know, you could probably make and release VSTs made out of the sounds you make eventually, and even make money off it, along with your games! :3 I dunno, that's only an 'if you want to' thing anyway. x3 I just think it's neat! :3

The future certainly steers towards making money, but from a total retro game muic making workshop to say so. So the whole shebang rather than individual components of it.... free for personal use (but all game stuffs removed/disabled) and for commercial use there's a separate license.
