Sandalio [Daytime] by Woofle

Sandalio [Daytime]

Sandalio [Daytime]

Woofle

Sandalio (the capital of Tykondrus, not to be confused with New Tykondrus to the south and west) is a busy city, and industry thrives here, many factories have popped up, their machines humming and belching. The royal palace and city were both built in a very rocky area of Tykondrus, and there are places where huge rock outcroppings dwarf buildings, and even hang over the top of the streets.

I went for more of a grand, emotional feeling (ALSO MITSUDA HOMAGES), as it is a capital city. While I stuck with some dirty guitars, and some distortion (for those of you who make it past the 1'00 minute mark, there are all sorts of surprises!) I wanted it to sound a bit more mysterious for one, and for another, I wanted it to sound less 'dirty' than what I came out with for the night version. Sandalio is a peaceful town after all. Careful listeners will note a small homage to the song for Contaplia's capital, Rise. That was purposeful as the countries are allies. :D

The first time this song is heard, one character is unwilling returning home to this shining settlement. He'd really rather be anywhere but here, but as fate would have it...

As for the name of the town, the rulers of Tykondrus are half-beast wolves, and Tykondrus is roughly based on Spain, thus;

SANDALIO m Spanish

Spanish form of Sandalius, a Latinized form of the Gothic name Sandulf which meant "true wolf" from sand "true" and ulf "wolf"

    This is such a lovely piece ! I also love how your tunes tend to be "long", awesomeness just lasts !

      The way I figure it, with Elancia Chronicles, is since people will be in cities (such as Sandalio, here) for a while, I'd better keep their ears happy the whole time! It's no fun going into a town, climbing all the buildings in search of treasures, buying items, and developing character relationships if the song's only 45 seconds long, anyway. xD

        Totally understand that. My game vould have just huge stages that you play tens of minutes. It is also one reason I look forward to getting a track or two from you in future - length seems to be a no issue for you ^^

          Length makes it fun, know what I'm sayin'? :D Really gives a musician time to stretch her legs! Working in MIDI will be a fun challenge...
