A sudden attack, an enemy empowered by greed. What had been a calm, quiet night, had now been turned into a night of terror and needless bloodshed. Enraged, Dema tried to balance her main priority of protecting Nae, and the unavoidable task of fighting the unexpected foe.

Snow, falling gently at first, now a raging storm; tears, caused by pain that should never have been; blood, tainting the pure whiteness of the snow.

"This is not the end... we will get through this..."

But happy endings... do they not only exist in fairy tales...? And this, this was life. And there was nothing fay about it.

Everybody knows that everybody dies. And nobody knows it like Kayin. But the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever, for one moment accepted it.

This tale was far from over...

Emerging from the storm like a wraith, Kayin was anything but - brandishing the Lantern. With it came the light of Hope. Sustenance for the soul, a guide through times of doubt. Once more did he kindle it.

And for it Nae and Dema alike felt their heart's beat harder than ever before. The will to live reviving their frozen and torn forms.

But it was not without cost. Feeling their prey slipping away, the hunters pushed all the harder in pursuit, lashing out in desperation.

With a grunt and growl, Kayin imposed himself between them, carrying his fair share of the burden as he lit the way onward, through the ice and the storm.
