Cold Days by Threetails (critique requested)

Cold days when I held you close,
Cold days, how we loved them most of all
There never came a storm
That didn't find us warm
As tender snowflakes shook the leaves of Fall

Cold days, you and me alone,
Cold days, when we stayed at home all day
We never gave our time
To songs that didn't rhyme
And poetry with nothing good to say

But I could be forgiven,
I could be forgiven if I thought
The coldest days of all were far behind

Cold days, seven-thirty bells,
Cold days, to our separate hells we go
Dreams we put on hold
No shelter from the cold
As you and I repay the debts we owe

Cold days with nowhere to hide,
Cold days, should have stayed inside with you
I'm shivering on my own
I'm ready to come home,
So tell me, are you cold and lonely too?

But I could be forgiven,
I could be forgiven if I thought
The coldest days of all were far behind

Cold Days (critique requested)

Threetails

This was inspired by the weather one day about four years ago. We'd been having a cold snap and I was feeling depressed that I had to go out in this rather than staying at home with Kobi, like I really wanted to do.

It got me thinking about how much our obligations to others have made finding the ideal moments to spend together that much more difficult.

Stylistically, this was inspired by some of Neil Diamond's ballads
