1956 Citroen 2CV

Threetails

This is my car! A recent photo Dad took.

My father and I have done a lot of work on this car, which was only about 40 or 50% restored and gutted when we got it in 2001. This is an early model 2CV; you can tell from the larger wheels, suicide doors, lack of rear quarter window, and the old-style hood (called "ripple bonnet" by enthusiasts). Mine is one of less than 20 pre-1960 models in the Citroen Club of North America registry.

While I've been out here Dad's put a few finishing touches on it that really make it a complete car. It still needs paint and body work but I plan to have it painted lapis blue with white wheels which will make it really nice!

I'm hoping to have it shipped here from the East Coast before too long. We've been held up by the costs involved.

Suicide doors? OH, it opens up the wrong way, right?

Correct. It's suicide to try to close one if it comes open on the highway.
