Return of the Great Pirate

Yaaaarrrrgh...

Aside from a mom who may of just realized her kid went off to go trick or treating throughout the surrounding village, seems like a fun night!

So I wanted to draw a Halloween picture for the DragonScape, haven't drawn a Halloween thing in a while anyways and figured it would be something of importance in the Dragonscape

I know Halloween is still a while off, about 8 days? But I am gonna be busy for the Eve of Hallowed moons so you know!
Now to ruin the holiday vibe by talking about holidays in the DragonScape and how they might be affected. I will be tackling this from a US perspective as I need to do more research on Holidays in other American countries. But at least in the US:

I imagine drekir may not be too into celebrations holidays in the first year. You're trying not to die and many drekir won't have the best grasp of what the exact date would be, only have a general guess that it might be winter, spring, or summer. But I am sure those that are able to keep track of holidays may try and celebrate some semblance of them, with the first major US holidays in the DragonScape being Thanksgiving and Christmas, which might be celebrated on the first year as a general get together of the local survivors.

But as drekir society rebuilds and develops, and gets a grasp of what day in the year it might be, I could see holidays coming back!
Halloween in particular may not be as it once was, but the general idea would probably be the same, Kids might make and dress up in makeshift costumes, wandering the village for treats from the older villagers. These treats probably wouldn't be candy, with sweet breads, fruits, and local cultural treats being the next best thing to candy.
Also security would probably really lock down on the walls, as Halloween is NOT a good time to get raided
