"When you push against nature it tends to push back. This is what happened with the Damnates decores plant which had been a nuisance in some areas. It never became a legitimate danger to any towns as it was mostly confined to its natural habitats, damp caves, ruins and old graveyards. In time, many uses were found for the plants flowers and sap in alchemy and medicine. Eventually a different strain of the plant began to appear, this strain wasn't usable in the same processes as the old strain and was therefore mostly left ignored. Eventually however more and more accounts of the Damnates Decores related deaths began to crop up. As the older strain was harvested to near extinction while this new strain was able to thrive make its more aggressive and opportunistic tendencies become apparent. Instead of passively waiting for prey this new strain instead actively seeks it out, making it a danger to towns that are nearby its natural habitat.
