I've been slowly learning how to use Rebelle Pro 5, which emulates traditional media (paints and whatnot) and so I did up this piece of Acacia. Definitely a learning process but it's really cool to be able to do this digitally and see how the paint interacts in real time on the canvas. :D

Patrons of course always get at least 5 day early access to finished images and this was done in June~

      thanks! please ask.

        you're welcome!

idk if i asked this question but, Are you more into digital or traditional art?

        • Link

Ah! You did I think, and my response was that I like both for different reasons. They both "scratch a different itch" if that makes sense. I love both processes and do both.

oh then i will ask something else! How did you practice the detail that make us feel that is textured paper?

            • Link

Oh! You can do that yourself by using a scanned paper texture and using layer modes (multiply, overlay, etc) to make it go over the whole picture though it takes some fiddling to make it look nice. In this case, it's default to the program I was using, Rebelle pro 5. I managed to snag it on sale and it's a really cool program that simulates real media (paints, pencils, pastels, etc) digitally (you can see the paint mix together in real time) and their default canvas is textured like this.

i see. i will try that one day! thank you

I like this--it does have the feel of a painting, especially in seeing the "textured paper". I think just that visual mark of the "textured paper" will trick the eyes into believing it's traditional. :)

I think I need to adjust the texture size a little bit to be smaller, but otherwise yeah! It's a rather nice effect :3

Every new experience usually needs to be tweaked, but you’ll eventually get it in that “perfect” zone! :D

Totally! Takes time and practice~ :3
