Jetroids Chapter 9

Chapter 9: The Transmission

Upon arriving at the laboratory, Aero started having a case of deja vu.

"This lab, I feel like I remember it, but can't recall when exactly."

Aero saw a button to the left of the door of the complex. Pushing it opened the door.

Inside, Aero saw tons of electrical equipment ranging from computers and electronic monitors and gadgets. The lab looked like it had been abandoned long ago, but a good amount of the equipment was still in perfect operation. Proceeding further, Aero saw a stasis cell that was big enough to hold him, along with some various parts from a prototype jetroid. 'Could the scientists at this lab have been building a Jetroid?' he thought to himself. Looking at the parts again, he remembered what he came here to do. The robot limbs includes a body and some old arms and legs. He had to get an engine part to repair Sakura, and if he was lucky he would find it there. Taking one of the old leg engines, he set it on a workbench and used some tools to open it up. Sure enough there was an engine part inside. Aero removed it, and after performing tests on the part, he found that it did work.

He was just getting up when he noticed something on a desk blinking. It was a circular button linked to a small circular pad. There was some kind of charge-shaped gadget next to it. Curious, Aero pressed the button. A holographic Jetroid appeared in the transmission. He was red in color, with yellow and gray details and had triangular shaped fins. Aero was shocked because the part of wing he had found outside the lab was red, yellow, and triangle shaped.

The Jetroid in the transmission spoke.

"My name is Archibald. I used to be one of Velbus' best scientists before a colleague of mine turned against me. His name was Vaxtus, and when he learned of an artifact called the Estrella Diamond and its power to remake all of reality, he wanted to harness it for evil. He also created a malware program that he planned to implement into one of our prototype Jetroids he and I created. This malware he created hinders the memory circuits of anyone it's loaded into and gives them a state of amnesia."

"Malware. Amnesia. Could that be what's affecting me?" Aero wondered. Archibald continued.

"I have created a gadget that could be used to separate the Estrella Diamond into its individual pieces should it fall into the wrong hands. It is shaped like a miniature bomb with four fins coming from it."

Looking at the device on the counter, Aero saw that it matched Archibald's description.

"Vaxtus may be looking for the Estrella Diamond, and if he does manage to get it, one could simply fire that gadget at the Estrella Diamond to make it separate into its individual pieces."

"I wish I could say more, but I'm worried that valuable information such as that I have conveyed could fall into the wrong hands. Good luck and farewell." The transmission ended.

After watching and processing the whole thing, Aero couldn't believe it. He was created by both Vaxtus and Archibald and this lab was his birthplace. And he found out that he did indeed have a virus that inflicted his memory circuits to give him a state of amnesia. He had trouble processing it, but he knew what he had to do.

Taking the scatter device, engine part, some tools, and the charred wing with him, Aero left the laboratory.
