    Wow! I saw this on the front page, I've never seen a black squirrel before!

      They're actually Eastern Grey Squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) that have a melanistic mutation. You'll find them all over Ontario, Quebec, and in the midwest.

        Cool, I've seen the grey squirrels with the red mutation but never black.

      They're everywhere here. They're literally climbing out of garbage cans. I love it.

      Where I live, 90% of the squirrels you see are fully black, it's the grey ones that are less common, hahaha
