An Araltian Adventure - Onyx

Stampy

Onyx let out a mournful yowl as an ember sizzled and popped out of the onrushing wall, planting itself firmly on her very pretty loincloth and leaving a terrible black mark on it. As if this day wasn't already bad enough! Where was all this no-touch liquid coming from?! Fire-mountains never had this much of it, just tiny little trickles. Maybe there was more at the peak? Onyx didn't know, she'd never gone near the horrid things. But now she was running away from a flood, an entire wall of glowing angry no-touch liquid, such a massive flow of terrifying doom that it filled the entire stone canyon wall to wall and still loomed many times taller than she was! Even if she managed to escape with her life, her fur and clothes would both be terribly burnt, all dried and brittle and ugly. She'd need weeks to make herself look good again- and that was assuming she could even find enough food to last that long in this weird blue canyon! The chunks of earth all around her were too small and broken to have much worthy food on them, barely enough space to fit a palm's worth of tribes, and they were all being melted by the no-touch liquid anyway. This situation really couldn't have gotten worse.

Well. Technically, at least there weren't any of the other predators around. She'd caught the scent of a tasty cat a moment ago, but she'd lost her appetite when she noticed how scraggly and scarred it looked, and then the burning and flooding had started just moments after. She could come back to that unpleasant feline later, when her life wasn't in danger. For now, she'd just have to be content knowing that at least she wasn't going to be eaten!
