A fun little ballpoint illustration of a plague doctor for ! As always, it's a pleasure to work with you!
The scanner for one reason or another just would not color balance in this one and I'm not entirely sure why. Ah well, she's getting the original shortly so that's all that really matters to me. Done with ballpoints on smooth bristol, 5''x7''.
Indeed! I even recall reading an incident in Spain in which a plague doctor was kidnapped and successfully ransomed afterwards the individual was so important and needed in the community. I think it was in Barcelona this happened...
The thing I enjoyed the most about this commission is that gave me artistic liberty but stated she wanted it to be as close to historical images and testimonies as possible. Thank you kindly as always!

This is excellently done, Sparky! I cannot help but think that he has a strong sense of pride in what he does for his community, which quite resembles the way Plague Doctors were valued throughout history.
For good reason, they basically were the people who willingly gazed death into its eyes back then.
Wonderful rendition, I say again!
