The Park (critique requested)

That day, they went to the park. With intentions on playing Katherine’s favorite game, Frisbee. Laura had to get ready first and Katherine had been asking all week long. Eventually, that Saturday they went to the park. Laura told Katherine to step outside and wait while she got her shoes on. Katherine ran out the door and hauled as the screen door shut and a smell came over Katherine’s nose. She sniffed the air, ears down and closed her eyes as she took a whiff of the air.

Suddenly, Laura came bursting out and saw Katherine and responded with a worry some, “What’s wrong?” Katherine shook her head rapidly, bringing her back to reality and she looked at Laura,

“Nothing… Just fresh air” and then they both giggled. Laura could only then shake her head and say “come on, let’s go while there is no wind.” Katherine jumped up in excitement and raised her ears back up as they walked towards the park, Laura with the Frisbee in her right hand.

As they arrived, there was no one around, the city behind them and a wide open field surrounded by trees. The ground very slowly rolled up and down, the grass cut, but not recently and never greener had it ever been. It was the community park and often times it was filled with people, especially on a Saturday. Katherine darted from Laura, her tail swinging as she ran, Laura preparing to launch the disk into the air.

Katherine turned from her straight-away running and ran sideways, the Frisbee had been launched and hurled towards her. She leaped into the air, a good 20 feet from Laura and 3 feet into the air. Her height revealed more of the city, however, more so she saw 6 black objects approaching over the city. Katherine clamped her teeth down onto the plastic and those 6 black things turned to be military fighter jets.

They roared over Katherine and Laura, sending ear-piercing noise just above them forcing them both to drop to the ground and cover their ears. Once the noise was gone, they slowly looked up at each other and then both faced where the jets were going. They were heading straight for the neighboring country of Serktees, a country in current tension to Katherine and Laura’s country of Golgatha. Laura had feared this since she was a child. Those fighter jets meant war.

This is a co-op project between me, ski# and khol14 on FurAffinity and hopefully this will be coming out every week so stay too (and click the +Watch Button)
