Magic Waters by SiranaJHelena

Magic Waters

SiranaJHelena

This is a remake from a very old picture. The original one was more some kind of Egyptian priestess while this looks more like some young sorceress or a mysterious travelling gypsy.
However, I like her. She's cute. ^^
And yes, I know the picture name is stupid. That definitely is the least creative part of it.

On this picture I tried a new workflow for less realistic digital art. I also used transparent outlines but this was an experiment I don't have to do again so soon. :D
Nevertheless I think I found my way or at least walked another few steps on my road to the non existing perfection.

I'm sure there will be pictures of her as a character again. I like lynxes and I like silly stuff like glowing spots of fur.

And last but not least: I planned to make three prints of her. The first has already been sold at Mephit Mini Con 17. The second one will be available at this year's Eurofurence.

Wow really strong picture! I love her face, it's so realistic. And I love how her eyes follow the magic sphere. It's not easy to make characters look exactly into the direction you want to! At least for me! Oh and you're at EF! Neat. ^^ So we might even meet IRL!

Thanks a lot! It means much to me to hear this from someone as good as you! ^^
Funny thing is, at first she looked straight to the viewer because of the facial expression from the original piece. That was more like she was waiting for you to come closer and have a look into the cristal ball. However, after this picture got more distance to the original sketch, it was just like: "Erm.. ok, cute lynx, but I have no idea what you want from me. Oh, watch what you're doing with that ball, kid!" So I changed it (and it took me hours until I got this position... )
So I'm glad to hear the affort was worth it. ^^

Thats really nice, I love the way that you did the markings and the color scheme is just beautiful. Nice job on the lighting, if anything I think maybe I would like to see a little more life in the eyes. Just some more reflection and a few light details to go with it. Beautifully colored though.

Thank you very much! I agree with you about the eyes. They had stronger reflections at first but together with the light from the glowing bubble it made the pupil disappear and somehow changing the direction she looks in. Therefore I had to soften it a little bit. I really have to think of an alternative next time.

Yeah I know what you mean. I often get lost or lose details when I add more then one light source :u

Beautiful! I really love this character, especially her face and the anatomy is really well done!

Thank you very much! It needed a lot of time to make it to this point and I'm really happy it was worth it. ^^
