My half of an art trade with topaz4girl. I didn't forget, I've just been busy! And ohhh, look, more digital stuff. Starting to get the hang of it I think. Anyways, the keywords I was given for this one were "chubby but strong, lives mostly underground, carnivore, poor eyesight, and excellent hearing."

I was going to do something cute, and then this happened. Well, I still think it's cute. I figure this guy burrows deep underground, using it's feelers to "listen" for vibrations which would lead it to it's prey. Upon finding it's prey's tunnels, it would unsheath it's head and stick it down into the hole, spraying a noxious concoction from it's nostrils to confuse and terrify it's prey (not to mention make it blind and nose-deaf) before using it's long, prehensile tongue and jaws to to snap them up.

While above ground it generally keeps it's head hidden, but when threatened it will rear up on it's hind legs, showing off it's high contrast belly and fail it's head around, spraying whatever it is threatening it with the liquid from it's nose.

Inspirations were bears, anteaters, badgers, moles, owls, wombats and starfish.
