Pink has now grown into adulthood and gotten married, but the on-going construction of the wall means that his wife becomes increasingly estranged from him, a fact to which Pink himself is either entirely oblivious or doesn't care. During this part of the story Pink ponders how he can finish construction of the Wall, and in the extended version in the movie he's offered a list of modern vices that could serve that purpose. The irony is that his own callous behaviour towards his wife during this period will end up giving him what he's looking for...

It was kind of hard to come up with ideas for this, especially considering the Scarfe animation that goes with this song in the movie. WARNING: there's some explicit and possibly disturbing content in this video.

No single picture could hope to capture the wealth of symbolism in this video or the full version of this song (often referred to as "What Shall We Do Now?"). In the end I settled for a more straightforward storytelling piece, in an attempt to highlight just how large Pink's role is in events to come (note that the movie changes the order of events slightly, as in the album the Wife's infidelity hasn't been made apparent yet). Though the Wife is ultimately unfaithful, her actions are solely grounded in Pink's cold indifference towards her, to the point you could even interpret it as emotional abuse, and I wanted that to be shown.
