Takes place in Story #6, just after the whole Gryphoni'dia mess VJ created (and ended up fixing all the same, lol).

She's on the outer boundary of Tangletown, midway point of trading within the Gray Zone, investigating on a report of strange goings-on with the Montercane herds. Normally they migrate west towards the far cliffs, but of late they've been disappearing in large numbers; only to be found as skeletal remains, bones bleached white and picked clean. The residents think a larger predator has moved in, but from the initial photos of the apparent destruction of a local herd, VJ's not entirely sure.

Having spent a good chunk of time growing up in the Gray Zone, this is kind of a personal chapter for her. I do intend on having bits and pieces of her past revealed in this story, not enough to be considered completed, but just enough to ease her forward into the next chapter of her life.

That's one hell of a generic Kirin/Horse/Dragon thing she's riding. I have no idea what in the hell I was thinking, but cough syrup's the hell of a drug sometimes, ha.
