Barbarian Kobold 001

Rufellen

Crouched behind the bushes at the edge of the swamp Kaed peered across the stagnant, mud filled pools and slippery mud coated slopes down toward the village huddled at the bottom. The yellow wolf frowned at his adventuring partner and nodded down the hill, his red hat shading his face from the gloomy noon-day sun.

“Well the artefact is down there, but there is no way those lizardfolk around going to trade with me… you reckon you can get in and convince them trade.”

The red and maroon scaled kobold turned to regard Kaed, “Yeah I reckon so,” one of his clawed hands caught the wolf’s tail, “As soon as I get dressed up properly, they look like they’ll be more receptive to a barbarian dressed kobold then you.”

Kaed shrugged, “Nothing wrong with my hat, it's not as if I have anything to hide… clothing is for younger idiots and… ugghhhhh.” the yellow wolf toppled backwards as his limbs suddenly went limp. His canine body thumped onto the grass, hands and legs like noodles as his head tilted back, muzzle lolling open, tongue flopping out as he found himself staring up at the kobold.

“Naked, yellow furred vampires in sun-hats really aren't very helpful for infiltrating barbarian villages and if i leave you here you'll just get bored.”

“Whaaaartttt,” Kaed burbled through lips that were slack and unresponsive.

“I need a disguise, you need to not be bored and to see the artefact so… this is a little spell I created all by myself.”

Kaed burbled and watched in confusion as Vikris picked up something flat, made from shaggy yellow fur and wrapped it around his waist. It had a dark lemon yellow wrap with a heavy thick wolf tail hanging off the end of it with a V shaped cut at the front that was a dark, rich yellow colour.

“You…. little…. shi….” was about all he managed to say before his world got weird and flat. Vikris lifted the long, flat wolf pelt up and shook it out then swung it around his shoulders, tying his ruby necklace around the wolf’s wrists, interlinking Kaed's fingers. With his new cloak in place Vikris lifted the hood up so Kaed's head and upper jaw could rest atop his skull.

“There, now wolf you should still be able to reach out to me mentally…”

‘You little shit,’ Kaed started to mutter into his mind, ‘You undo this right now you…’

“Later though,” Vikris said with a grin, squashing Kaed's mental voice and standing up, he paused to wrap his new yellow wolf fur bracers and leg wraps about his shins, “I’ve got a village of barbarians to talk too.”
