Barbarian Kobold 002

Rufellen

Slogging through the mud of the swamp Vikris let the thick, sticky muck sinking into his scales and covering his leg bracers. Quietly at the back of his thoughts Kaed was complaining about getting his fur muddy. Vikris ignored his grumbling and scrambled up the bank onto the flat ground raised above the swamp.

Straightening up the red and maroon kobold grinned up at the tall two lizardfolk guards who walked out of the village toward him. They were dressed in the sparsest of loincloths and leather accessories. The air was thick, humid and quite delightful against his scales, Vik could see why the lizards had built a village here.

“Stop little lizard,” one of the lizards said, “Why you come here, this is our place, not tiny lizard place.”

Vik looked up at the taller lizards, smiling from beneath his yellow wolf pelt hood, “I’m here to trade, I got many things to share,” he yapped, cadjing his voice and inflection to sound like the rudest of country kobolds, “Many trinkets,” he hefted the backpack he'd conjured, “Much trade for food.”

Nodding their heads the lizards parted and one of them turned toward the village, “Ok little lizard, you come meet chief, you can trade.”

As they walked deeper into the village the guard looked down at him and finally rumbled, “Like your fur pelt, you must be good to kill big wolf, you trade that?”

Letting a smirk spread across his muzzle the kobold looked up at the lizard, “Possibly, if lizards have something little lizard want.”

Kaed started another blistering tirade at the back of his thoughts but Vikris ignored him. They had an ancient artefact to retrieve, if it meant Kaed had to spend some time as a cloak well then a cloak he would be.
