Berislava color sketch

Rococospade

Behold the knight of the land, terror of the dark wood, the anthill tiger, the vila that is coming for your face.

Which is to say, I didn't manage to finish what I wanted to today so here's a sketch of Berislav/a instead.
This is a not-so-slick vila version I designed of Savallah because he has been having a not-good week and because after playing Fortnite with both him and Regyper I had been threatening to draw him (as a tiny war god) anyway. He actually really liked it which was a relief because I drew him as a murder cat and said 'this is you, this is what you look like to me' so yeah that could have gone wrong if I misread things. And the really fun part was like, when I said something like this, he was 'but I love your designs how could I be upset' and I'm going 'because- I, I don't know where to start. I'm glad you like it' and this, folks, is what friendship looks like.

Might use Beri here as a background character in Basileus as Sav said he's cool with it. Not plans yet but we'll see.
Like all Vili in Basileus lore, Berislava is a child of Veles, Perun and Ishtar. Her animal traits and pelt (which I... derp, forgot to draw) are based on Black Footed Cats, a species of wildcat known for its adorable widdle face and incredible capacity for violence. They have a better success rate than goddamn lions and SamanthaDuckie has already had to hear about this but I really can't get enough of these little bastards so it was really the perfect thing for this.
Berislav's clothes are based loosely on Croatian traditional dress, most notably the shawl, veil and boot covers. The sword is, of course, a Zweihander, and it's hard to see here but the gloves are actually the sort with armored pointy fingertips because what cat goes into battle without claws? A sad, angry, stressed one luckily that is not Beri.
They probably have a tail honestly.

Thanks so much to everyone who had to deal with my insane ramblings and commentary in the concept and drawing stages of this beautiful mess and thank you, Sav, for loving it instead of rightly calling me an asshole for depicting you as a tiny murder monster with nice clothes.

The whole thing probably took about two hours because after a few days stewing I had a good idea of what I wanted.

Thank you for viewing! <3
