Well,
Took me a few days, more than nine hours, and more than thirty-five layers even after clean up to finish this! And I love how it turned out. Even when I got lazy with the shading on the main focuses of this drawing. And lost the motivation to continue shading it properly due to an argument. Thank you nosy neighbors that just LOVE to stick their noses into where they don’t belong! But other than that little problem. One that almost made me want to throw a little flaming surprise while they are sleeping in the night. Arsonistic (don’t believe that’s an actual word?) and Murderous intentions aside. I still very much love how this turned out.

Especially the background! It’s no secret that I loathe working on backgrounds. And a casual scrolling in my galleries will show that point off perfectly. I struggle with putting the visualizations in my mind onto paper. Well, digital paper but paper nonetheless. I mostly forgo painting the backgrounds because I am horrible with them. And whenever I make a mistake during the process. I hate and berate myself until I lose the motivation to continue working on it…
That and I’m a lazy bum most of the time!
This particular one took me almost a month to finally decide on what the background was going to be. Challenging myself to put extra effort into it because it’s a gift for a friend. And I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit. So yea, almost nine hours, I think it’s ten but I didn’t count, of constantly working on it over the course of eight days.

Also funny story,
During the painting process, I didn’t explore the number of brushes the app I use came with. So I turned to youtube and searched for tutorials on making custom brushes. An entire hour of self-induced headache later. I stumbled upon three particular brushes that I was trying to make. Two of them being a brush for painting Grass and the last for painting Leaves. My eyebrows twitched, my headache roared, my hand had that tiny itch to punch something, and an entire wasted hour later. I got back into painting the background, annoyed and fuming at myself. But I calmed myself down a few minutes later.
