DAY 26 OF OC-TOBER: Mel Siberia (ft. Rina)

For all the burnt buildings, and the bloody, beaten pathways, and the bodies that was left behind, Mel could never forget about her, Rina, let alone regret her.

There were other things Mel regretted, for all the times she picked up a rifle rather than a medical kit.
Still, during the Čyrvony civil war, there were rare moments like these, where birds sung their songs and there were no gun fire.
A peaceful solitude with just her and the woman of her heart. To let themselves dream of the “What Ifs” after the war.
To build up from their broken past, to start anew, hand-in-hand, and a sun shining over the cold horizon.

That’s still a far off wish. So for now, they lived in their moment of ignorance to disappear from the world far too cruel.
They were together and that’s all that matters. By nightfall or in the morning, or when the war is over, or a decade from now, they may not be.

Until then, with fingers laced together, they rather not think about that. Not when the birds are still singing.
