The REAL villain of Until Dawn by Quilaviper

The REAL villain of Until Dawn

Quilaviper

it's the shitty american healthcare system. shitty american healthcare is the true villain. XDDDDD

I made the actual Dr. Hill a Zoroark, since Scorotro came up with the AMAZING point that he IS basically a Zoroark throughout that whole game. XDDD Though I'll keep him as Scorbunny for the shitpost drawings, probably

So much pain could have been avoided if Josh's doctors just FUCKING LISTENED TO HIM, AAAAAAAA
at the same time i probably shouldn't do Dr. Hill dirty like this, at least the real version of him was TRYING to help more than the past doctors seemed to

Minus the "$26,250" part...I've had similar experiences with psychiatrists and specialists. Sometimes, like with the sleep clinic, the doctor won't even prescribe anything or give any advice what-so-ever after I describe my symptoms and just tell me to go home before the appointment time was even supposed to be up.

It's why the 2019 Joker movie hits so hard. https://youtu.be/Fn21P-K9XOM

Y E A H, it's the reason that stuff like the 2019 Joker and Until Dawn hit nme so hard emotionally, because these are VERY real problems that happen to so many people and then THEY get demonized for it as if how they turned out was ever in their control in the first place!! So many people don't give a shit about the mentally ill or the structures in place to support them and it's infuriating AAAAAAAAA

It's like, I've watched a bunch of playthroughs of Until Dawn, and some of them I've had to straight-up stop watching altogether before getting to the ending because of how insanely cruelly the Let's Players talk about Josh. I deadass watched someone react to a scene where he got kidnapped by a monster by saying "Oh well, maybe you shouldn't have been a crazy person" in such a horribly smug way, like FUUUUCK YOU ALL THE WAY TO HELL, HE CANNOT HELP WHAT HAPPENS IN HIS BRAIN AND NOBODY ELSE WAS FUCKING HELPING HIM EITHERRRRRRR (Luckily most Let's Players have a more sympathetic view towards him for the most part, but it just REALLY pisses me off when I come across the occasional player that says such nasty stuff about him, like y'all have no empathy, wtf

I REALLY love the 2019 version of the Joker tbh, it's probably my favourite version of him just by virtue of how they thoroughly explored the mental illness side of things and the common struggles that mentally ill people face. And yet there was STILL so much controversy around that movie because of people who just have no goddamn empathy or reasoning skills and can't understand the VERY OBVIOUS points the movie tries to make!! "iT pRoMoTeS vIoLeNcE" like SHUT THE FUCK UUUP, IT'S NOT "PROMOTING VIOLENCE", IT'S SHOWING HOW PEOPLE WITH MENTAL STRUGGLES AND NO SUPPORT END UP ON THESE PATHS IN THE FIRST PLACE, HOLY SHIT--

Sorry for my ranting, I'm just VERY UPSET at how people can be so cold and void of empathy.

Oh I feel the same way. It's why I've become somewhat cynical these days, and why while the Joker from the Dark Knight took things WAAAY too far, you can understand his point to a degree.

Yeah, totally agreed!!! Tbh I think a reason why I always tend to like the villains more in things is because it's really easy to understand their point of view. Not excusing their actions, of course, it's still wrong to kill and hurt people and shit, but it's like, it is SO EASY in most cases to see the pain/thought process behind them of how they ended up that way. It's been a long time since I've seen Dark Knight, but even when I was younger I vividly remember Joker being my favourite character of that movie, and pretty much ALL of my major favourite characters growing up (and still to this day) have been villains. (In Josh's case, I don't think it's right to call him a "villain" since he's literally the only character who will never decide to kill anyone/have an option to kill anyone, but he's still technically in "antagonist territory" (although Game Theory made an AMAZING video about he's basically the most redeemable character of the entire game lmfao https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi4i6e99Z1k&ab_channel=TheGameTheorists although this video deadass made me cry because, again, the bits about the unecessary struggles he faced hits super fucking hard)
But yeah, thinking back on it, I think Joker's ALWAYS been my favourite in any Batman media I watched, even if he wasn't necessarily presented in a sympathetic light (like there were a few cartoons I remember he was just an asshole to be an asshole, but I still enjoyed him most because he's tons of fun XDDD) BUT ANYWAY, I'M RAMBLING, I JUST REALLY FUCKING LOVE VILLAINS, especially ones with DEPTH, they hurt me so much but I love them X'D)

It's the reason why years back I kinda re-wrote Bennett's backstory and tied Emily/Ms. Emoji into it as sort-of "Joker/Harley Quinn" copycats.

Ms. Emoji's backstory I'm particularly proud of, because instead of maker her "crazy because crazy," I made her damaged by a lifetime of emotional abuse from an uncaring world.

(omg i thought i replied to this already, sorry for the late reply--)

Yeah, super valid!! It's nice to give a little depth/explanation into why someone turns out the way they did, makes them feel more 3-dimensional and sympathetic for sure!
