A Strange Love by o-kemono

A Strange Love

o-kemono

This was a valentines commission that Buckhopper gave me to do. Its based off this story that he is writing about a sewer rat falling in love with a high-class bunny. Beauty and the Beast to sum most of it up. The sewer rat, being one with the sewers and filth, could only find what he feels might be good enough for her: dead flowers and some half eaten candy. The bunny is over joyed at the gifts presented to her. Its the thought that counts is the moral of this scene.

It was quite nice to do this kind of illustration. This was done using pen and 11x14 bristol. Im pleased with the lighting in the background and the sewer-feeling around them.

I don´t consider this being strange, he loves her and offers the little he has.

I think of it like "the widow's mite". That's what really makes the thought count.
