I owed a Zodiac pipey to my mom for a long time, and finally got it done last night just in time for the new year. It’s the year of the Horse, which is what I am! (I’ll be 24 in June)
I had a lot of help from reference pictures and Rondie, and had some fun with the details in the horseshoes and the chinese letter for “horse” on the flank. (It’s not kanji if it’s not japanese, right?)
Mom is taking it to display at the new year’s banquet at her Tai Chi class tonight.

Woo! It came out looking GREAT!
Fun fact, the Chinese character for "horse" is the same as the Japanese kanji 馬 (uma) which means… horse! There's a lot of shared characters between the two systems—it doesn't get confusing at all. XP
