Haha, I've never played nor heard of that game, after taking a quick second to look it up. It's possible the client based this character off of them since the refs I were given showed a total resemblance to the demon

I think it's a nice design. And if you're into platform games where you can fly temporarily, then I think you would like it. :)

Yes, I enjoy platform games very much. I feel I've been slightly spoiled on certain other platform games though and that one is so old, I'm not sure I'll have much interest trying to play it, I'm afraid lol

Ah, I understand. I have a sense of nostalgia, whenever I play a SNES game (rom) ;) and you probably didn't grow up with that console as a kid, right? It's all good, no worries. ^^
