The Stars

"The stars don't look like the lightning bugs I thought they were", said Pancho as Kassa's family tried to hold back from laughing.

"Lightning Bugs!?" Nico retorted. "Everyone knows the stars are tiny pin holes in the sky so some light can shine through at night. My mom told me that".

Kassa and his family were really laughing by now.

Pancho argued, "An uncle of mine told me the stars are lightning bugs that flew to high and got stuck on the sky. And my uncle knows just about everything".

By now, it was about the best laugh Kassa's family had in quite some time.

"How can you two even believe stuff like that?", Kassa's sister, Sassa, asked as she was almost laughing to hard to speak.

As soon as laughter slowed down, Kassa explained to Nico and Pancho that the stars are suns, most of which that have planets that are lighted and warmed by them. And that they look small because they are so far away. Nico and Pancho were also surprised to find out that the night sky was not a solid ceiling that lightning bugs can get stuck to, or have pin holes poked in it.
