passing the Slow Car

moyomongoose

Jamila and I were out cruising along Highway A1 (Back in the day before A1 was allowed to deteriorate over the years).
With the removable roof taken off, and at 110 kpm (almost 70 mph), the wind felt good blowing through our fur.
Of course the Kenya Police Service - Traffic Division seldom patrols this stretch of highway... ...so...admitting to being a bit of a naughty mongoose, there were places I did push the speed to 130 to 135 klicks (80 to 85 mph). Jamila found a station on the radio that was playing an Australian tune we grooved to while cruising along;

Not long before we came into Lodwar, we came up behind a serval who was driving of all things, a Goggomobile, which had a top speed of less than 90 kph...That's around 55 mph...Slowed us down big time...And no wonder it wouldn't reach 90 klicks...Those cars, post WW2 generation of German made cars, are powered by only a two cylinder, two stroke motor (rear mounted motor).
Jamila asked me, "Moyo, weh naut stayin' behind dis cah fa da rest a da trip, ah we?"
"Nah weh ain't", I replied, "Des really ez gettin ole queeck".
There was no oncoming traffic, and hadn't been for a while.
So I gave a right signal, and we cruised on past the little Goggomobile.
Jamila and I had a good laugh when she suggested the little Goggomobile must have come from the North American toy chain, Toys-R-Us ("Toys-Ah-Ous"), instead of from a dealership.
Before long, Jamila and I were enjoying our highway cruise, back to the speeds we wanted to go, as we left the little Goggomobile and it's serval driver far behind.
On my Land Cruiser's radio played a kickin' Kapuka tune;

There were other songs Jamila and I had playing on the radio as we continued cruising along;
Kenya Blue Stars - Talaka...Yikes! A divorce song...Jamila and I enjoyed the jammin' tune, but that "D" word, never.

In this posting, I am doing something I haven't done before. At least for now, any posting that is about my fursona, Moyo Jais Mongoose, the descriptions will be presented as it being Moyo telling it as a personal experience.

The image of the Land Cruiser was digitally drawn.
The image of the Goggomobile is one of my own photos (not a model or off the web). I posted a Youtube video of the photos I took of the car in Lake Mary, Florida...And it is a really tiny car.

The voices of Moyo and Jamila are as follows;
Moyo Jais Mongoose - My own fursona - African banded mongoose born and raised in Northwest Kenya (Great Rift Valley). Voice much like the school teacher, Mr. Van Driessen, in the Bevis and Butthead series...but with a Kenyan, non-rhotic, English dialect.
Voice tone;

Non-rhotic dialect;

Some Kenyan pop singers have a similar singing voice.

    Great artwork!!! The cars look very real. And as for the songs you posted, I like the first one best.

      Thanks. The Toyota Land Cruiser is a vehicle I drew. The little car is an actual photo of a Go-Go Mobile that I blended into the drawing.
