North West Frontier a.k.a. Flame Over India

moyomongoose

This is from an old awesome epic movie I seen only recently since I was a kid...'North West Frontier' a.k.a. 'Flame Over India (the same name as the title of this drawing).
The setting is in India during one of those Muslim conflicts in the year 1905.
Most of the movie is of a train trip across more than 300 miles of barren countryside in the northwest part of the country. A group of people take a young Hindu prince enroute from Haserabad to where he would be safe in Kalapur. Along the way, they encounter Muslim tribal fighters on horseback, and places where the tracks had been dynamited by the rebels.
The train is somewhat of a ramshackle train, consisting of a small steam switch yard engine, with a two axle gondola car as a coal tender, pulling a two axle wooden body coach...The train in this drawing depicts the same train that was in the movie.

Here are two links to different versions of the 'Eton Boating Song' that was played a few times during the movie;

This is the first drawing in over 3 years (Spring of 2014) that I had done completely with coloured pencils with none of it being computer generated. The name plate letters on the side of the locomotive are done with white art paint applied with a sewing needle.
The actual drawing is on an 8 - 1/2 x 11, acid free, sheet of copy paper.

    Colored pencils? This looks like a painting! Nice job!
    How'd you get it to look this way? Is it the brand of colored pencils, or just the way in which you used them?

      I use Prisma-Colour brand, which applies on heavier. Art stores carry them. You won't find Prisma-Colour at a Wal-Mart.
