magma matron, magmatron?
sounds like a transformer robot..
She is a being of lava and her robes are molten rocks and magma that flow from her core, while smoke bellows from her torso and head.
I imagine she speaks with a rumbling voice like a volcano, accompanied by the whistle of steam and smoke, but because this scares people, she keeps quiet most of the time.

i started with a very crude sketch, then i zoomed out and layered the base colours ontop
merge down the layer when you're happy with it, add more detail ontop.
working more and more zoomed in and rince repeat till happy with the result

the lava was harder to draw than the rock in my opinion, meltymelty rock.
i googled a lot of magma and things for inspiration

I am not a huge X-Men fan, but it seemed interesting, and logical. More of an imagined reboot rather than an implementation.

That would definitely be cool. He is an independent artist who has done some of his own takes on different 'properties', as well as general commentaries on character design and so on. Many of them get a lot of attention on Tumblr, so hopefully he will get noticed (in a good way) sometime.
