After a busy weekend of traveling, decided to do something fun! Here I have tried my hand at chibis, using my favorite program, Paint Tool SAI. All canines depicted are owned by me and are what I consider my “main” art-related canine OCs! Without further ado:

Kalani: My most-used and favorite character, a Bateleur Eagle spirit trapped inside a Side-Striped Jackal’s body. Contemplative, sympathetic and curious, Kalani has been given an incredible task: The two feathers in her tail hold great power, but removing either or both could have disastrous effects! The green band, if removed, would free her spirit from its scavenger shell, lest she find the mysterious responsibility regarding the feathers’ protection too much to bear. (design by me)

Jackal: Kalani’s distant cousin, a fantastic mutt of Side-Striped Jackal, African Wild Dog, and who knows what else. She takes no bullshit, and never stays in one place for too long. Having grown up too wild to be in good favor with humans and too domesticated to make it on her own completely, her truest home is the streets of merchants where scraps fall, and the outskirts of town. She is more self-sufficient now, but travels with a rogue male, in search of more than just surviving to the next day. (design by me)

Minna: This kindhearted Feonix is as soft as the pink hues that cover her frame. Quiet and shy, yet graceful and fluid in both nonverbal and verbal communication, Minna is best described as content. She falls asleep easily and is a playful, optimistic and encouraging soul. She loves stargazing and has quite the sweet tooth. Although she has no tail and her feathers don’t allow her to fly, Minna can leap and bound with ease and is quite surefooted. (species by Tatchit, design by me)

Hatsu: Somehow, this Lantail Fox seems to bring the tribal drums with him where he goes! Wearing a white mask, and most notably, having a spherical, glass-like orb within his tail, Hatsu is quite the unique specimen. The orb within his tail is a miniature jungle ecosystem, complete with vegetation and other lifeforms. The orb experiences rain often, and is usually found to be muggy/foggy, with condensed water trailing the orb’s inner walls, refreshing the vegetation planted within. The brown-and-tan beads that also adorn his tail and foreleg are of the religious nature, having been blessed and provides him with comfort and protection. A warm spirit with a determined heart, he is easily trustworthy and protective.(species and original design by :devartzy_adopts:, modified design by me)

Nori: Whimsical, serene and regal, Nori exhumes a feeling of regality. Glowing soft white with a long navy –hued tail behind her, she travels on brisk and fluid paws. One shoulder has an anchor symbol upon it, signifying her strength, dependability and groundedness. There is a subtle sadness in her eyes, and on long nights she can sometimes be seen awaiting the sun on the horizon: dawn, her favorite time of day.
