Dominika tells me the reason "My Heart Is Broken" by Evanescence hits me so hard is because while it's an Evanescence song so it's about romantic turmoil, to me it's about the death of my creative spirit, my ability and will to draw and create leaving me as my eyesight, moods, and general physical and mental state continue to worsen.

"I will wander 'til the end of time, half alive without you."

Art is just as much about what an individual takes from it as what an artist puts into it, I suppose.

I guess that's why there's such a strong synergy between visual artists and the music we listen to, and why it's often so much easier to quote song lyrics than to put our thoughts into words ourselves.
