My water dragon Iridium, posed rather like an Audobon painting. I rarely do color media or mixed media in terms of volume, so this one was really good practice in a variety of ways. I tried mixing in other colors so it was not shaded solely in blue and gray, I layered colored pencil on top with solvents, and I worked without an ink outline. Some effects I like, but I think I need to push much harder. I especially like that the mid tail section really looks as if it's under smooth water. I realized some mistakes too late, such as the fact that the far body shouldn't show through the back fin with the light hitting it from that direction. Oops. I also have some issues around where the back feet hit the ground and interact with the body shadow. I also need to practice my dragon feet more.
All in all though, I enjoyed myself in problem solving.
