This painting is of one of our two barn cats, Buckle. He is a complete cuddle-bug and is one of the most affectionate cats I have the pleasure of interacting with. Photo was taken by myself.

No worries! I am actually using a brush made by another artist, who has allowed them for download in an issue of ImagineFX's Digital Painting. I'll have to locate the issue again, and I unfortunately forget the artist the brush was made by, but the artist I found the issue through is Daime-M on DeviantART, and the issue can be found through his submission here: http://damie-m.deviantart.com/art/ImagineFX-Still-Life-Workshop-367945470

This was fascinating to watch. Did you make your own brushes, or is it all cunning manipulation of presets? Apologies in advance if you've talked about your process in earlier posts!
