The changes were accelerating. They'd spread up her legs and arms to the joints. She started to feel like her hooves had become softer, and her hands were now fully webbed. She felt changes to her face, which were the most disturbing. Almost afraid to look at her reflection, she hurried to get away from the populated area of the mall and try to find a secluded place to endure this latest transformation of her body.

She ran faster, finding it hard as her entire body was going from one species to another. Lauren wondered for a moment if perhaps she would need to find water, given her webbed hands.

She could still recognize herself to some degree. If only she were home and could seek help from Chris. For all she knew she'd pass the changes on to him.

She had to keep running.
