Lauren protested, though the doctors would not listen. She tried to tell them she was really a zebra, that she had been turned into this form and that it was not her regular body. They refused to listen, and restrained her with a tightly wrapped straightjacket. She was a zebra, wasn't she? But how to convince them of that?
She found it hard to focus as a crux. The longer she spent in this form, the more she felt a desire to be mischeivious or otherwise playful. She had to keep her wits about her, but she could not escape like this.
The doctors mentioned something about drug therapy to cure her of this fantasy of being a zebra. She couldn't let them drug her. If she let them put things into her bloodstream, she might lose the desire to escape. Tonight, when the guard came, she would kick him with her powerful legs. She would only get one chance, and she would have to do it without her water powers or her arms.
