Galleria AD 1972 - Flint Westwood

I forget what this miniature was painted for, now. It's been a few years since I started him, and never got around to finishing off those last few details. Buttons, eyes, his base, that sort of thing. It's not all Games Workshop, you see? This is a Frank Cisco from a British company called Hasslefree Miniatures. They specialize in neatly skirting copyright infringement with some very nicely sculpted miniatures that almost precisely resemble characters you recall from popular culture; their not-Nicholas Angel is very good, by the way.

After finding Frank here tucked away in an old case of unfinished projects, I'm resolved to actually finish him up entirely and base him on something appropriate.

In particular, I'm proud of two things on this one. The colour scheme itself was as thoroughly 1970s as I could bring myself to put paint to brush for, which I think has come out pretty well. The sweater vest and texture in the jacket I'm really very pleased with, which looks best from the back. Second, when taking the photo for this figure, zooming in close my camera automatically sets itself for a macro shot. When I held it up near enough to take the shot, my camera has a 'face finder' that automatically tracks and brings faces into focus. That little orange tracking box lit up and selected the miniature's face. I couldn't have been more delighted by that - technology recognizing my work as a real face, ha!

If anyone's actually interested in this little piece of kitsch fun, let me know. When he's finished and based, it'd be nice for him to have a home where he'll either see use or end up on display rather than staying trapped in a WIP case for the rest of his days!
