This is Warboss Kragnak ur Grobag (yes, gardening fans, that's on purpose), leader of my Warhammer 40,000 Ork army. He's painted and converted in response to a challenge from a White Dwarf magazine article, to which someone replied within earshot that 'the conversion isn't possible for someone without the right tools.' Oh-ho. Challenge accepted, bro. The basis of the figure is the Warboss from the Assault on Black Reach starter set, with details like the head, lower pincer on the power klaw and a few other minor additions from the Ork Nob boxed set. All in all, I'm very pleased with how he came out. A couple of experiments on this figure included the painting of beaten, weathered metal and using canned varnish, which is where the slightly dusty look comes from. I rather like it.
