Something that popped into my head one day, while out scooping up munchies with my gal and seeing some Bernie yard signs. smiles I saw Bernie as a possible acronym for a "Bert & Ernie" pairing, similiar to ones such as "ZADR" (Zim & dib), "Sonails" (Sonic and Tails) or "Rempy (Ren & Stimpy)".

Bert always looks rather startled with his mouth like that... He also bears a striking resemblance to Beaker when he doesn't have his patented unibrow.
