I know WorloCoyote has a story behind them, they are some sort of tribal markings, I think you might need to ask them for more details, though. :) The one on the chest though, is used in their watermark for their art!

His markings are the result of a forest god that laid hands on him, transferring a curse. The curse caused him to loose his natural fur colors (why he's white), gain markings around the lips and eyes, loose his eye sight, and his ability to verbally express himself. Though his mind and thoughts are clear, it takes an almost insurmountable amount of effort to form simple phrases/sentences, so he finds more creative and concrete ways to communicate.
