experimental: watercolor pencils, watercolor markers

It's been a long time since I've actually drawn my original story human characters in normal looks--meaning, NOT CHIBI. I tend to draw lots of my humans as chibis because I'm not-so-great with humans these years. XD

Daniel the Lone Wolf was colored using "The Fine Touch" watercolor pencils from Hobby Lobby. Watercolor pencils have a flexible use to them, as they can be used as pencils or as watercolors. The thing about them is that the water added may change the color as it's laid down by the pencil itself. Like the base was a darker red, maroon really, however it brightened when water was added.

Curtis Smith was done with Mondo Llama watercolor markers from Target. Watercolor brands of markers can differ in what they do and how they activate--this brand just mostly softens the edges of the marker. However, color variety is limited in a set........which is why the flesh tone is so dark. I also used my Liquid Chrome silver pen for his jewelry set there. This Liquid Chrome pen is my absolute favorite silver pen in the world.

These OCs belong to me. :)

Nice Job! Honestly, I think you did pretty good in as far as drawing humans in a more regular manner.

Man, this high key inspires me to do more traditional, maybe even start trying to draw more human ocs again?

      Awww, thanks so much! :D

I think traditional mediums will always be my favorite, because I can work on them at my own pace and not worry about technological glitches (as might happen with digital)—of course, any mistakes are my own mistakes! XD

I currently have a new sketchbook I started this year where I’m dedicating a page to all of my original characters (story-based OCs, fansonas and characters I’ve adopted), maybe I’ll be able to scan and upload that stuff by the end of the year—if I can get them colored! :)
