Gallade has become one of my go-to characters of games ever since the introduction in D/P/Pt. I've even transferred male Ralts to any games where I couldn't get one early in the game and as soon as I could send or acquire a Dawn Stone, I'd get my Gallade. I think the sheer variety of Moves that it can learn or be taught is impressive and makes it versatile enough for a standard game team. Competitively, yeah........from those I know that compete, Gallade's not the greatest in competition. Like most "fave" Pokemon, there's better ones than that you can use if you compete, but if your only goal is to play the game's story from start-to-end, I've found Gallade can round out a type-trumping roster in many instances. :)
