First of all...............I always suck at drawing Pikachu. I don't think I've ever drawn Pikachu and been happy with how he turns out. :/
So..............I was just redrawing old designs and stuff recently (working on a big project on Soren right now) and felt like doing a chibi of my "Pokemon Kansai" fan-fic version of Ash. For those who haven't heard this before, think the last time I mentioned it was at FA a couple years back. Ash is 16 in this story and I tried to show him looking more like a mid-teenager in the design............he's travelling the Kansai Region with Conway Shirou (from the "Diamond/Pearl" anime) and Mary Star (a 10-year old girl who wants to be a pop star/contest star) as his "last journey" before he challenges the Elite Four and Champion of Kanto. At the start of the story he is telling Conway that there was a special term in the contract of competing in the Indigo League, if a Trainer kept competing in other regions for five years, then they would be able to directly challenge the Elite Four and Lance. So as I've always treated Ash's journey as "one year per region", after Shinou he goes to Kansai and that makes up his 5th year and at the end of the story he challenges and defeats Lance to become the Champion of Kanto. :)
Ash and Pikachu belong to the Pokemon Corporation, GameFreak, Nintendo and Toei Animation.

I wish I could draw Pikachu as cute as the artist who does the "Pocketmonsters Special" manga, Satoshi Yamamoto--he really does the cutest Pikachus ever! :D

I love the concept, could explain why he wasn't champion yet xD It always amazes me how Pikachu continuously gets the crap beaten out of him even though he should practically be god-moding by now.
I'll be honest, since we're close friends. I can see why the pikachu upsets you. It isn't up to your own personal standards you've set for yourself. Sometimes, that's okay. We just have to accept it and move on. Who knows, maybe if you train another 5 years you'll get better! ;) Hey, a pikachu study sketch page or two? xD

Thanks! :D I think the "Diamond/Pearl" anime was my favorite overall series, because in it Ash showed maturity and decision-making skills. I have to wonder if he really wasn't like 13 or 14 by that time. The anime became too cliched with Ash "starting over" and yet referring to his previous travels. And I've heard some wacky theories (including Ash being in a coma since the first episode and everything else being a dream and you don't grow up in a dream.............), but to me I think every region travelled is "one year". :)
I think sometimes I can't draw Pikachu well...............because I really don't like the Pokemon that much either. chuckle I think I may mentally block myself from drawing that poor little guy well. XD
